48", I make all my own laker rods, have a lightning rod spinning and a series one spinning that were also converted, really like them for lakers, better than anything we can find locally.

Tinman - interesting approach! I have been building my heavy trout, pike and sturgeon rods from scratch using 6ft solid fibreglass blanks, cutting some from tip and butt ends to 41”

It's actually pretty easy. Measure twice cut once, lol, 5 minute epoxy and insert rod into blank on handle......done

If you’re looking to make your own ice rods for lakers, there’s some good rods right here. If I didn’t have a bunch already I’d be snagging these up.
